Zoe Kravitz, Naomi Scott and Tessa Thompson have read for the Han Solo female lead
  Movies, News  /    Oct, 06 2016

As casting continues on Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm‘s second Star Wars Story film, Variety is reporting that three actresses have just read for the Han Solo female lead. According to the trade, Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class, Mad Max: Fury Road), Naomi Scott (Terra Nova, Lemonade Mouth) and Tessa Thompson (Creed, Thor: Ragnarok) have all read for the undisclosed role. It is also suggested that Donald Glover remains the frontrunner to play Lando Calrissian in the film, although no official casting has as of yet been made outside of setting Blue Jasmine and Hail, Caesar! star Alden Ehrenreich in the title role.

Although the Han Solo female lead is currently a mystery, it is a possibility that the role in question is that of Sana Starros. A former cohort of Han Solo’s, Starros made her debut in Marvel’s Star Wars comic book series, initially claiming to be Solo’s wife.

The screenplay for the Han Solo movie is written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan and will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.

The First Official Teaser Poster For The POWER RANGERS Movie
News, Photography, Power Rangers  /    Jun, 25 2016

The first official teaser poster for Lionsgate’s upcoming Power Rangers reboot is here featuring our five leads, pictured from left-to-right – Ludi Lin, Becky Gomez, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, and Dacre Montgomery. Unfortunately they aren’t suited up in their colorful Ranger costumes, but it’s still a pretty neat shot of the fivesome. Also, considering the timing of this poster reveal, it seems like we could be getting our first look at some real footage relatively soon, with San Diego Comic-Con being the most likely bet for a trailer debut.

Check out the poster in High Quality below:

New single: ‘Lover’s Lies’
  Music, News  /    Jun, 12 2016

Naomi has just released a new single, “Lover’s Lies”, off her forthcoming EP set to come out this summer. The news premiered on The 405 who have also interviewed Naomi on the topic and what inspired her to write the track, her upcoming projects and more.

What was the process of putting together your new single ‘Lover’s Lies?’

Well, unlike any of the other songs on the EP, this one was a song idea I had that we actually ended up taking apart and starting again, just using the chord progression, which was different for me because I usually write the song and the music/track together because it helps me give a song an identity. All the other songs were pretty much already fully fledged in terms of arrangements etc, when I brought them into the studio, this one however was more collaborative and the boys (Dave and Joe) were able to really put their own stamp on it (the last tribal section was their brainchild).

What inspired it?

I’ve seen how difficult it can be to love someone who has been hurt by someone else and teaching them how to love again is a process, it’s like bringing colour back into someone’s life. That determination to love someone until they heal was something I thought was worth expressing.pressing.

Make sure to check out the full interview here and don’t forget to listen to Naomi’s newest song now available on Spotify.

First look at the new suits
News, Photography, Power Rangers  /    Jun, 12 2016

When the Power Rangers revival morphs into theaters, the five teenagers with attitude won’t be wearing the original series’ campy costumes to battle Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks). Instead, the new cast — singer Becky G as Yellow Ranger Trini, Ludi Lin as Black Ranger Zack, Dacre Montgomery as Red Ranger Jason, Naomi Scott as Pink Ranger Kimberly, and RJ Cyler as Blue Ranger Billy — will don translucent extraterrestrial armor that crystallizes around their bodies.

The sartorial update may look radical, but the outfits are visual throwbacks to the franchise’s long-running mythology. “The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis,” director Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) says. “These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit.”

Check out the new still of the five rangers in the new suits below:

Power Rangers: First Look
News, Power Rangers, Website  /    Mar, 06 2016

The Saturday morning TV staple Power Rangers (née Mighty Morphin) is coming to theaters in 2017 with a big-screen revival that will introduce a new version of the classic line-up of five alien-blasting teens.

EW has your first look at pop star Becky G, RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, and Dacre Montgomery as Trini, Billy, Kimberly, Zack, and Jason, respectively.

While the roster might sound familiar, director Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) told EW that he wanted this superhero story to reflect the lives of teens today. The new Power Rangers is a coming of age story for these “disenfranchised and disparate” high schoolers, who are not friends when the new story begins.

Lionsgate Prioritizes ‘Power Rangers’ Over ‘Divergent’ With An Off-Season Release Date
  News, Power Rangers  /    Dec, 28 2015

In the “news you missed because I spent too much time writing about Star Wars” category, Lionsgate made a major date change on Thursday night for two of their major franchises. Actually, correction, this is more of a “news I couldn’t get around to covering because my son spent Friday at home with pink eye,” but same difference I suppose. Anyway, the long and short of its that Lions Gate Entertainment has switched around the would-be release dates of the final Divergent movie and the first Power Rangers movie.

As you may recall, the House That Jigsaw Built originally slotted Power Rangers to open on July 22, 2016 alongside Ghostbusters, Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur, and Ice Age 5. Ghostbusters moved a week ahead, Star Trek Beyond ended up in the July 22nd slot which just yesterday finally drove King Arthur to February 17, 2017, and Power Rangers ended up in January 13th of 2017. But now that has changed yet again. Power Rangers is now opening on March 24, 2017. But since that was supposed to be the release date for Shailene Woodley’s fourth and final Divergent Series movie, Ascendant will now open on June 9th of 2017.
